DESCRIPTION
of waisted cylindrical form with narrow sloping
shoulder and waisted neck with everted rim, on a
short broad foot, decorated in underglaze cobalt
blue and black with a bold calligraphic design
against floral scrolls and dots, the shoulder
with a foliate band, the neck with a continuous
band of scrolling foliage

calligraphic decoration, in the Musée National
de Céramique, Sèvres, inv. no.8386 (see
Soustiel 1985, fig.257, p.229; and London 1976,
